Ukamau was founded as an organization that fights for the right to housing, for the construction of a neighborhood as an indispensable social unit, for the right to the city as a basic necessity and for the inalienable human right to a good life for our families and for all the families of our country.

Ukamau is an organization of workers, of residents, who have taken up the banners of struggle for the construction of a better society. We are an organization of people who understand that the general welfare of the population is not possible within a society based on neoliberal capitalism and the exploitation of the working class, the impoverishment and exclusion of the majority, and where a minority, who actively defends its privileges.

This is why we have taken on the responsibility of transforming the Ukamau Residents' Movement into an instrument of broader political organization, with the objective of fighting for the immediate interests of the working class, which are none other than the general interests of the people to whom we belong. We are part of a comprehensive effort to build the social force necessary for the working class to conquer political power in Chile and begin to overcome the capitalist forms of social organization.
