With 25,000 men and women who work throughout the production chain of the oil industry, the USO is an industrial union founded in the city of Barrancabermeja on February 10, 1923, to defend the energy sovereignty of Colombia, public ownership of oil and other strategic resources for the development of the country.

We fight for decent work for all workers in the oil sector, we defend Colombia's energy sovereignty, public ownership of oil and other strategic resources for the development of the country and the sustainable human development of the communities that inhabit the oil producing regions.
