Federación de Cooperativas de la Reforma Agraria de la Región Central (FECORACEN)

The history of the Federation of Agrarian Reform Cooperatives of the Central Region - FECORACEN goes back to the very origins of the agrarian reform in El Salvador.
FECORACEN was founded on on January 30, 1985 with 16 founding cooperatives and more than 12 thousand manzanas of land.

We are an organization made up of peasants and Indigenous communities organized in cooperative associations, farmer associations, water committees, among others. We fight for the defense of the territory, to defend the land, our main objectives is to defend the rights of peasants in general, but linked to national struggles, finding common ground in the struggle for a more just, equitable, supportive and democratic society. For this, we pursue a strategy of national and international alliances that allows us to strengthen our struggle.

We seek to build organization from the grassroots to bring proposals for the transformation of a state that does not protect the rights of the most vulnerable people. We work along axes such as advocacy and organization, food sovereignty, youth and women's organization, community self-management of communities, climate justice, agroecology and, as a cross-cutting axis, training and education.
